We recently took the opportunity to attend a 4 day photography workshop in Tasmania with Capture Landscape Photography workshops. In fact, we were the first group to do an interstate workshop with Jim and Richard.
Our base was in Bicheno north-eastern Tasmania, with access to the stunningly beautiful beaches and rainforests in that region.
The workshop was extremely well planned and executed. Accommodation was excellent in a fully furnished 3 bedroom holiday house, with plenty of room to spread out, critique our photos and coaching in the use of Lightroom. Delicious meals were taken at award winning cafes and we always had plenty of snacks and bottled water on hand.
We travelled in two four-wheel drives, visiting beautiful and sometimes remote areas for our photo shoots, such as Bay of Fires, taking advantage of both sunrise and sunset.
Jim and Richard are wonderful teachers and with three of us on the workshop we got plenty of individual attention. They are fun to be around, relaxed and generous about sharing their knowledge, expertise and prodigious talent. I am a relatively inexperienced beginner and found both Jim and Richard very encouraging, patient and willing to spend the time to explain and help me take a better shot. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent as a group - plenty of laughs, learning and (for me) the igniting of a passion to take great photos.
We hope to join Jim and Richard again sometime for another adventure in the not too distant future.
